The natural disaster hit the Washington State of the United States of America, just outside the city of Seattle. NWS Seattle was fast to publish a report of this quake and stated that the bottom did shake round 0252 Pacific Daylight Time.
According to Natural Resources Canada and the US Geological Survey, the initial quake could be "lightly felt" in the Greater Victoria and Vancouver areas.
Several smaller earthquakes have shaken the Monroe area since then. NWS Seattle has reported the quake nearly an hour after it occurred and said there is nothing to be afraid of. A tsunami was not expected, according to a tweet by the U.S. National Tsunami Warning Center.

The quake, which was centered two miles northwest of Monroe, was felt south to Olympia, north to Vancouver, British Columbia, and east to Leavenworth. Within three minutes, a 3.5 quake shook the region, followed by another 10 aftershocks.
