The flight to Sydney from Vancouver, British Columbia, was forced to make an emergency landing in Hawaii on Thursday after severe turbulence that jolted passengers out of their seats and around the plane.

Honolulu Emergency Services Department spokeswoman Shayne Enright said injuries included cuts, bumps, bruises, neck pain and back pain.
"It just seemed that the plane just sank and then flew up", said passenger Sharon Thornton.
Air Canada was arranging hotels and food for passengers in Honolulu and looking at resuming the flight, the statement said.
It was not immediately clear whether the Air Canada 777-200 aircraft, which had 269 passengers and 15 crew members on board, sustained any damage.
It's key to follow crew's orders and wear a seatbelt when turbulence hits as the majority of injuries are caused by people who fall or are thrown about because they weren't strapped in properly.

In June, a severe case of turbulence on a flight from Kosovo to Switzerland was captured on video.
Of the roughly three dozen injured, 30 were transported to area hospitals after medical staff met the aircraft as it landed at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport.
