"The [RAW] agent has been awarded death sentence after a due judicial process", he restated.

The Times of India (TOI) has reported that India on Friday called off talks between the two neighbouring countries on maritime security which was scheduled to be held on April 17.

A delegation led by Pakistan's Maritime Security Agency (MSA) was to visit New Delhi April 16-19 to discuss issues related to fishermen and search and rescue operations.

A leading Mumbai NGO Harmony Foundation on Saturday appealed to Pakistani peace activists to launch a campaign to save former Indian Navy officer Kulbhushan S. Jadhav, who has been sentenced to death by that country's military court.

The three were residents of Taroti village in Abbaspur in PoK, according to the report.

Pakistan military court on April 10 announced death sentence to Indian citizen Kulbhushan Jadhav for his alleged role in sabotage and espionage activities.

As tension between the U.S. and North Korea has increased, China has urged both sides to step back from the brink of war. Beijing's priority remains preventing any instability on its doorstep, and it has been unnerved by the sabre-rattling.

India says Mr Jadhav travelled to Tehran for business and was abducted.

Jadhav had told judges previous year that he was a naval officer who had started doing work for Indian intelligence following a 2001 attack on parliament that India blamed on militants backed by Pakistan. However, Janjua said since it is a case of espionage, consular access can't be granted contrary to the Indian High Commission's claim that the same must be granted under global law.

India reiterated that Jadhav isn't a spy, that his treatment by Pakistan violated the Geneva Convention and that the death sentence is essentially "premeditated murder".

He said that he have asked for certified charge sheet and judgement for Kulbhushan Jadhav's death sentence.

Pakistan has put the blame back on India for its decision to deny consular access saying New Delhi had failed to respond to a letter of assistance seeking information and access to witnesses that Islamabad had shared with it on January 23. Manohar Parrikar said that the country is up to something or the other to remain engaged. Jadhav has been charged with espionage and waging war against Pakistan.
