A fire that engulfed a London tower block killing at least 79 people earlier this month started in a fridge-freezer, London police said while adding that cladding on the building failed all safety tests.
"What we are being told at the moment by the Building Research Establishment is that the cladding and insulation failed all safety tests".
Documents and materials had been seized from a "number of organisations", she added.
One of those buildings, Durham House - which is made up of one and two bedroom flats on Durham Street - has been found to have similar cladding to that on Grenfell Tower.
Preliminary tests on insulation samples recovered from the tower showed they "combusted soon after the test started", Superintendent McCormack said.
The fire that devastated a 24-story apartment building last week began by accident - and the source was a refrigerator, London police say.
Police are looking at all parts of the cladding system and its installation, McCormack said. "That's the number I'm really anxious about".

Cladding was stripped from five blocks in the Camden council area in London yesterday as councils around the country scramble to ensure their buildings are safe.
Such were their concerns after the tests that the information was immediately shared with government to disseminate more widely.
Derek Myers, who was the chief executive of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea in 2013, when Grenfell Tower underwent renovation, also resigned from the board.
"We now have expert evidence that the fire was not started deliberately - the fire started in a fridge-freezer - the make and model is a Hotpoint FF175BP", Detective Superintendent Fiona McCormack said Friday.
Ms McCormack said: "Every complete body has been removed from the building".
McCormack says: "What we haven't got is a picture of how many people might have been in there".
The toll of 79 people dead of missing could rise still, McCormack said, saying she feared there are more to come.
"All 32 local authorities have advised the Scottish Government that no council or housing association high-rise domestic buildings have the type of cladding reported to have been used in the Grenfell Tower - aluminium composite material (ACM)".
On Friday, the Premier Inn hotel chain said it was "extremely concerned" about the cladding used on three of its hotels, London's Evening Standard reported.
