Iran launched the missiles into Syria on Sunday, the first time in 30 years it has used them against a foreign country.
Ya'ari said that three of the missiles crashed in Iraq, one landed a few hundred meters away from its intended target, one landed somewhere in the Deir Ezzor region, and the crash site of of one missile is still unknown.
ISIL, which stands for Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, and is also known as ISIS, claimed responsibility for the June 7 attacks on Iran's parliament and the Mausoleum of Ayatollah Khomeini that left 17 people dead.
Sunday's missile strike came amid recent confrontations in Syria between USA -backed forces and pro-government factions. Iran has been aiding the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and is a key ally to the Syrian forces alongside Russian Federation and the Iranian-backed Hezbollah movement.
After Iran launched missiles into Syria, an advisor to the Iranian foreign minister, Sheikh Hussein al-Islam, said that Israel "is the main enemy" of Iran and that Israel should be anxious. The Guard released black-and-white footage it said came from a drone showing the strikes, a column of thick black smoke rising into the sky after the attack.
ISIS has not acknowledged the strikes and Syrian activists said at least two of the rockets caused no casualties.
He wrote that the strikes demonstrated Iran's missile capabilities to those "who sent terrorists to Tehran" and that Iran's "unexpected" response "was a deep message for the supporters of terrorists".
"The Saudis and Americans are especially receivers of this message", he said.

The operation comes just days after the U.S. Senate passed the Countering Iran's Destabilizing Activities Act by an overwhelming margin, a new sanctions legislation which targets Iran's ballistic missile program and applies sanctions against the IRGC.
In February, Michael Flynn, who was then United States national security adviser and has since resigned, said the Trump administration was "putting Iran on notice" following an Iranian missile test and an attack on a Saudi warship by Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen.
The US military later said it was seeking to re-establish the hotline.
While Saudi Arabia has spent billions on American weapons, Iran has developed a range of homemade ballistic missiles - including some that are capable of hitting Israel or American military bases in the region. When Iran unveiled the Zolfaghar in 2016, it bore a banner printed with a 2013 anti-Israeli quote by Khamenei saying that Iran will annihilate the cities of Tel Aviv and Haifa should Israel attack Iran.
