The case against Mourinho comes just a week after prosecutors accused Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo of evading €14.7 million ($16.5 million) in taxes.
According to reports, Ronaldo's current teammate in the Portugal national team, Andre Silva, commented: "Regarding Ronaldo, he is motivated, and what I can see is that he is taking the competition very seriously and is totally dedicated to training and thinking about the next game against Mexico".
Ronaldo's future at Real Madrid looked guaranteed after lifting his third Champions League title with the club earlier this month, the Portugal worldwide scoring twice in a 4-1 win over Juventus.
Ronaldo and Mourinho are the latest members of the soccer elite to be accused of tax fraud in Spain.

Mourinho was Real Madrid coach from 2010-13.

The 29-year-old and his father Jorge Horacio Messi were found guilty of using offshore companies to avoid paying taxes on € 4.16 million of Messi's income earned from his image rights from 2007 to 2009.
Prosecutors accuse the Portugal worldwide of evading tax via a shell company based in the British Virgin Islands and another in Ireland, known for its low corporate tax rate.
It will now be up to a judge to decide whether to take the matter to court.
Ronaldo via his representatives last week denied any wrongdoing. The two were given 21-month jail sentences but neither is expected to serve prison time since it was a first offense and the sentence was under two years.
