Superstar wide receiver and human lightning rod Odell Beckham skipped the New York Giants' 10 OTAs.
In taking a page from Manning's book, Beckham dipped into his wallet last week and handed a young fan $100 simply because it was his birthday. Needless to say, handing out $100 bills hardly makes a dent.
For those who have been following the Beckham melodrama, this should not come as a surprise.
Odell Beckham Jr. has pondered his National Football League situation while watching the NBA Finals. It's unfortunate that those stories don't generate headlines and clicks in the same way that negative editorials do, but that's just the nature of the world we live in.
Penguins blank Predators, repeat as Stanley Cup champs
Want your voice heard? Hainsey, who joined the team at the trade deadline, might not have played much with the Penguins this year. For the Penguins , they lost in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs in 2011 without their captain and an injured Malkin.
On May 25, Beckham told NFL Network that "I love my team and am excited about the season", adding that he would "for sure" report to the Giants' mandatory minicamp.
The reason for Odell Beckham Jr.'s absence from the New York Giants' OTAs is unknown, but there are some rumblings that it is due to his current contract and desire for a contract extension with the Giants.
The remaining year on the 2014 first-round pick's rookie contract calls for him to be paid $1.8 million, and the Giants recently picked up the fifth-year option on the contract at what is expected to be in the $8.5 million range. The Giants could also wait until after his contract expires and then hit him with the franchise tag, which would be approximately $18.3 million for a one-year deal.
