Global desk - Police have released names and photographs of three suspected London Bridge attackers who were shot dead eight minutes after they used a van and knives to kill seven pedestrians.
The police had on Monday night named Butt and Rachi Redouane as two of the three attackers who were responsible for killing seven people and injuring almost 50 others at London Bridge and Borough Market on Saturday night.
It was the third terrorist attack in the United Kingdom in as many months, and came less than two weeks after a suicide bomber killed 22 people at a concert in Manchester.
The terrorists killed seven and injured 48 when they used a rented van to mow down pedestrians on London Bridge.
All three men were shot dead by police within eight minutes of receiving an emergency call on Saturday night.
Metropolitan Police assistant commissioner Mark Rowley said: "Inquiries are ongoing to confirm the identity of their accomplice".
Two men were arrested by armed police on a street in Ilford, east London.
Police investigating the terror attack at London Bridge, in which eight people died, have made another arrest.
Theresa May's senior aides resign in United Kingdom election aftermath
May called for a snap election in April, pledging to form a government that would guide the country through the Brexit process. No 10 said on Saturday evening that the DUP had agreed to the principles of an outline agreement.
The third terrorist recently identified in the London Bridge attack, Youssef Zaghba, once told Italian authorities while on his way to Syria: "I'm going to be a terrorist". He was then stopped from continuing his journey to Istanbul.
A second named suspect, 30-year-old Rachid Redouane, claimed to be Moroccan and Libyan. He was known to security services and had appeared in a televisions documentary "The Jihadis Next Door", which was broadcast a year ago.
Before the recent attacks, Brexit and domestic issues such as the state of the health service and the cost of care for the elderly had dominated the election campaign.
The first among the dead to be named were Christine Archibald, a Canadian and Britons James McMullan and Kirsty Boden.
A French national was also killed in the attack, according to foreign minister Jean-Yves Le Drian.
Butt is alleged to have been an associate of convicted British hate preacher Anjem Choudary, but it goes further than that: his neighbors reported him to an anti-terror hotline.
At the time of the attack, Zaghba was working in a London restaurant, Italian media said.
