That suggests that the new Core NFC framework will still have some restrictions - preventing, for instance, tap-to-pair Bluetooth functionality that Android users are used to - but iPhone users will now get to experience the questionable joy of tapping their phone on more things than just payment terminals. The new beta available to developers shows that the volume slider for videos is now much smaller and out of the way.
There are many advantages to this - the biggest one ostensibly being that Apple doesn't have to invest millions in developing and testing an entirely new product. This would be a change as the tech company hasn't been allowing developers to use NFC in its devices. You could release the best app ever and accumulate a host of reviews and fantastic ratings, but when the time comes to upgrade your app to add in new features or sort out bugs - poof! The whole App Store is undergoing a redesign, as well, so that's cool.
The new Files app brings all your files together. If a developer didn't want to include the option for use only while you are using the app, you were stuck with Never or Always. Developers can submit info to the team on Apple's dev site here.
The option to drag and drop is another improvement coming to the iPad and, if you own a Pro model, Apple's Pencil gets some more features including being able to mark up screen grabs and documents.
