In addition to hosting Brian Kelly and the Irish football team on September 23rd, the Spartans will welcome Mike Brey and the Irish basketball team to the Breslin Center as part of the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.
The ACC won the last conference vs. conference challenge a year ago, but the Big Ten either won or tied the previous seven. The Challenge matches all 14 Big Ten teams against all but one ACC member. While fans might see this as a missed opportunity to play a more interesting opponent (Michigan or Purdue would've been fun) - keep in mind: it's better than playing Maryland again.
