A teen's plea for a year of free chicken nuggets could soon become the most-retweeted tweet in history.
T-Mobile's CEO John Legere tweeted Wilkerson offering to buy him Wendy's chicken nuggets for a year, just for switching from AT&T. The response? 18 million, which would be a new world record and sounds impossible to achieve.
They did not, however, offer a deadline for this challenge, which seems like a very significant oversight.
To put that in context, Ellen Degeneres' star-studded selfie from the 2014 Oscars that now holds the retweet record "only" got 3.3 million.
At 3,281,803 retweets, DeGeneres's tweet far surpassed the original record holder, Barack Obama, whose November 2012 election tweet is now at 941,364.
At last count Carter had climbed to the second most retweets of all time with 2.2 million. He then tweeted asking the Internet for help, and so far, the Internet has come through. "Then I put the screen shot up and it started gaining momentum". Twitter has 313 million monthly active users, and Carter will need to be retweeted by 5.8% of them. J Wilkerson's other 14-year-old son helped J set up a Twitter account so he could see the whole ordeal.
Panic! at the Disco's Brendon Urie to star on Broadway
He'll assume the role of Charlie Price beginning May 26, taking over for Olivier Award nominee Killian Donnelly. The Panic! At The Disco frontman will be making those high heels work in NY later this summer.
"I thought "Consider it done" would be amusing among my friend group". "It would be great to solve a life crisis".

Wendy's did not immediately respond to a Reno Gazette-Journal tweet requesting more details. We will update the story if Wendy's responds.
"Carter is kind of a shy kid", Wilkerson said.
If he were to receive a year's supply of chicken nuggets, which he hopes is a gift card and not a truckload, Carter said he would dip them in Wendy's honey mustard sauce, barbecue or ketchup.
