First up and the BBC are one of several media outlets reporting that Arsenal have submitted an improved £25m offer to sign Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney.

While that figure could ultimately have been realised under the terms proposed by Arsenal, the manner in which "add-on" clauses were constructed failed to satisfy Celtic who are under no pressure to sell Tierney.

Arsenal fans certainly need a dose of reality.

The same article states that Arsenal are ready to make a bid in the region of £25m for the 22-year-old left-back in the summer transfer window.

In an open letter to the club published on Monday, 16 prominent Arsenal supporters groups combined to voice their concerns.

A club like Napoli would be in a position to outbid them for the player and will likely do so. "All of us want to see a clear sense of goal and direction".

Lennon is still hoping to add more players to his squad before the start of the league season, and ideally before the deadline for the second round of Champions League qualifying, which falls on July 18th.

The Gunners' interest in recruiting the Scotland global has been well documented throughout the summer.

According to Orenstein, Tierney is said to be keen on the move to Arsenal. "As you rightly said Celtic have got Champions League football, Arsenal don't".

Arsenal will probably complete the signing of Kieran Tierney before the summer transfer window closes but it looks like this transfer saga could go on up-to the final week of this window.

Sky Sports News understands that Serie A side Napoli remain interested in a deal for the Scotland global.

The player remains sidelined at the moment as he continues his recovery from the double hernia operation he underwent in May, having been consistently troubled by pelvic problems last season.
