Watch Moment Angels Complete No-Hitter While Honoring Tyler Skaggs

His mom Debbie threw out the first pitch and there was a moment of silence held in memory of her son.

Here was the last out of the no-hitter. Still reeling from the loss of their left-handed starter early last week in Texas, the Angels somehow excelled in every aspect of the game while wearing replicas of Skaggs' red jersey.

A memorial created by fans in front of the Big A's main entrance has grown to the size of a pitcher's mound, with hats, signs and baseballs and other Angels memorabilia delivered to the stadium by heartbroken fans over the past 10 days.

Cole pitched the first two innings. Combined no-hitters are a symptom of the game's evolution, and a team no-hitter on a day they honor a player who died tragically makes for one of the most remarkable stories in sports. Mike Trout contributed six RBIs, including a 454-foot homer on the first pitch he saw. Skaggs' mother threw out the first pitch, and Mike Trout wore his No. 45 jersey as a tribute. "It's just the Angels fans showing their support for the team and the family and showing the team we understand that this was a brother and friend, and we support them in the grieving process".

And then, somehow, it got even better.

In the pregame ceremony, Skagg's family was welcomed onto the field.

But by the end of the evening, "one of the most memorable" had become an understatement. All I know is Tyler Skaggs is no longer here.

Although Skaggs is gone, he won't be far from the Angels' minds and eyes.

"I think it's going to be tough this season", Trout said. You walk by his locker every day. It's different for everybody.
