Former Missouri LB Donavin Newsom suffered a horrifying injury at practice with the San Francisco 49ers on Tuesday.

Kyle Shanahan offered some promising news after practice, sharing that Newsom had feeling in his lower half.

Newsom after the hit laid motionless on the field while it appeared his body froze up. Newsom was taken off the field by paramedics and away in an ambulance after colloding with defensive back Chanceller James.

Obviously, a concussion is no laughing matter, but considering it could have been a fractured spine, Tuesday's injury could have been much worse for Newsom.

Newsom will remain hospitalized overnight.

It urged Moscow to cease "provocative actions" and called on the worldwide community to respond to Russia's "aggressive steps". Putin also said Russian Federation would invest 6 billion rubles ($100 million) in the Abkhazian economy by 2019.

"The encouraging part that I can say, his eyes were open", Shanahan said. We're praying for the best.

Newsom, who played his college football at the University of Missouri, went undrafted back in April but signed with the 49ers as a free agent.

"Me and a bunch of other guys ran after him because we saw that he was taking it [on] himself", Reid said.

The 49ers are scheduled to return to practice Wednesday morning before traveling to Kansas City for their preseason opener Friday night.
