Defending champions India proved no match for Pakistan on Sunday, losing the much-awaited final game of the Champions Trophy by 180 runs at The Oval in London.

Andrew Strauss feels England continue to make "significant strides" in 50-over cricket despite his disappointment at their Champions Trophy semi-final defeat.

Within three overs, however, their reply was in tatters as Amir produced a devastating spell of bowling.

Earlier, Fakhar Zaman's maiden one-day worldwide hundred was the cornerstone of Pakistan's 338-4.

The decline cost Azhar Ali the captaincy and Sarfraz Ahmed, the Twenty20 skipper, was elevated to the role in February.

It proved to be a costly no ball as Fakhar goes on to score his first worldwide century before falling for 114. But by the time he finished, the Green Shirts had taken full control of the game.

India then lost two wickets for no runs in four balls to be 54 for five inside 14 overs.

Mehboob Hasan, who lives in the city of Etawah in Uttar Pradesh, has come out in support of the Indian team following their crushing loss against Pakistan in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy.

Congressional animosity began with Newt Gingrich
On May 19, Trump nominated Gingrich's wife, Callista, to be part of his administration as ambassador to the Vatican. Nobody on Capitol Hill has any proof that I did anything with the Russians.

Hussey also praised Pakistani bowlers and opening batsman Fakhar Zaman for their brilliant performances.

India opener Shikhar Dhawan and Pakistan's Hassan Ali had already won the Golden Bat and Gold Ball trophies for finishing as the most successful batsman and bowler, respectively, while Tamim Iqbal of Bangladesh was also selected after driving Bangladesh to their maiden semi-final in a major ICC event.

Yuvraj then fell LBW on appeal to 18 year old Shadab, and Dhoni hooked out to the leg-side boundary to leave India utterly on the ropes at 54-5.

Later in the innings, Hardik Pandya, who put some resistance with a quick-fire 76 off 43 balls, was run out in the 27th over, thus, bringing an end to a famed Indian batting line-up.

"But you have to accept that the other team has outplayed you and they've shown better skill than you, they've shown better composure in pressure situations than you".

"We wanted to inspire the whole nation because we have been missing this for the last nine years with no cricket at home". They have been waiting for this for a long, long time.

"Congratulations Pakistan on a really comprehensive victory today". It was after Ali's dismissal in the 23rd over, for a 71-balll 59 - via a run out, that Zaman - playing his fourth global innings, switched gears and set Pakistan on course for a sizable total.
