The Pensacola News Journal reports that Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan announced Monday evening that fishermen had found the body of Naomi Jones.

The search for 12-year-old Naomi Jones has now shifted into a homicide investigation, following the discovery of her body Monday afternoon in Eight-Mile Creek.

Naomi was reported missing Wednesday. Police have not made any arrests, but questioned two persons of interest in the case that could involve someone who knew the girl or the family, the report says.

Divers for the Escambia County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday continued to search the creek for evidence.

Ten injured in 'terror attack' on Muslims in London
A van has ploughed through a group of pedestrians in London , reportedly after they left a mosque, leaving several casualities. A witness told the BBC that the driver said, "I want to kill Muslims", as he tried to flee the scene.

Morgan would not confirm if the persons of interest are in custody or why they suspect Naomi was murdered.

Electronic billboards went up across the south during the search for Naomi, who disappeared May 31. "But I would tell you that it certainly is a contributing factor". "So, the time line is being further (defined) as to when Naomi left her home and then again tracking where she may or may not have been at that time". I leave the whys to the psychologists and the script-writers.

Hundreds of law enforcement officials, classmates and local residents took part in the search that covered fields, woods, bushes, trash cans and other spots.
