Captain Steve Smith was frustrated by conditions at The Oval after Australia's Champions Trophy game against Bangladesh was abandoned.
Australia were denied a crucial win in the Champions Trophy as rain washed out their match with Bangladesh.
Another four overs more could have given Australia full two points as 20 overs were needed to constitute a completed match.
At one stage, it seemed like Australia would get the chance to chase down a reduced score via the Duckworth-Lewis method, but another spell of rain prevented them from making it back out to the middle. After having secured a point, Australia sit much more comfortable in the standings compared to the Bengali Tigers who lost their first match against hosts England.
Steve Smith was far from happy with the ground staff at The Oval as Australia's ICC Champions Trophy hopes were once again ruined by rain.
"England probably expects to win, and they have talked themselves up in the media, so it's nice for us to come in, rip in, know we have to play our best cricket going in to the back end of the tournament". Pace bowler Mitchell Starc was the cream of the crop with four wickets in nine balls in rout the Bangladesh tail.
Both David Warner (40 not out) and Aaron Finch (19) showed a lot of intent when the play resumed as they raced to 40 for naught in seven overs before the latter was trapped LBW by Rubel Hossain (1-21).

Tamim was unlucky to miss his second consecutive century, but his 95, made with six fours and three sixes in 114 balls, will prove to be priceless. Australia's bowling has become too predictable, look for the seamers to change tactic and work in their variations.
