"We are very pleased with the outcome of this trade, which puts us in the enviable position of selecting first overall in consecutive draft years", Sixers president of basketball operation Bryan Colangelo said in a press release.

There is no other way to look at this deal - one that sees the Celtics also acquire a protected 2018 first-round pick from the Los Angeles Lakers or a 2019 first-round pick from the Sacramento Kings, depending on whether the protection criteria is met.

Boston Celtics general manager Danny Ainge said he is "not afraid" of judgment after formally agreeing to trade the No. 1 overall pick in Thursday's draft to the Philadelphia 76ers.

Givony sent out a series of tweets on Friday, stating that Fultz "murdered" his workout. Simmons and Fultz will both be rookies this upcoming season and the Sixers will now have a full and healthy young lineup to start attacking their way through the East.

The deal, reported by the National Basketball Association website and set to be finalised on Monday, would mean longtime strugglers the 76ers get the No.1 draft pick for a second successive year, having acquired Simmons in that spot last year.

The return for the No.1 overall pick according to Woj is the No.3 pick and future first round picks with very specific conditions.

The move was confirmed by a transition official who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss post-election decisions. The memo to former transition team members yesterday also seeks specific information on five people, the NYT reported.

Another is that they think they know who the best player in the draft is...and it isn't Markelle Fultz.

George has spent all seven of his seasons in IN, emerging as one of the league's top players. The trade is expected to be finalized on Monday. Fultz, the talented guard out of Washington who has always been the presumptive No. 1 pick in the draft, worked out for the Sixers on Saturday instead of a previously scheduled meeting with the Celtics.

The Boston Celtics may be looking to trade down with the Phoenix Suns, where the Suns would likely select Kansas forward Josh Jackson. During the 2016-17 season, he averaged 23.9 points, 6.2 rebounds and 5.5 assists in 76 games.

Fultz's rise to stardom has been rapid. They can still potentially win lottery with that pick next year, or even receive a top 10 selection.

Last season, Fultz led the Pac-12 in scoring, was sixth among Division I players and the most prolific freshman scorer in the country.

He worked out for the Lakers three days ago as a follow-up to his Celtics workout, apparently getting enough rest from his right knee injury that caused him to miss five of his last seven games for the Huskies.
