Durant's late heroics power Warriors against Cavaliers

Cleveland guard Kyrie Irving drives on the Warriors' Draymond Green (23) and Kevin Durant (35) during the second half of Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday.

That the Golden State Warriors are on a march to another National Basketball Association championship seems nearly inevitable at this point, after their 118-113 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers gave them a 3-0 series lead in the Finals.

Golden State is now 15-0 this postseason for the longest winning streak in the playoffs in any major professional sport.

Cleveland was in a very similar spot a year ago, when the Cavs lost the first two games by 48 points, won Game 3 and then overcame a 3-1 deficit to win their first title.

The Warriors thought they were carving out their place in history when they set a record with 73 wins last season.

The Warriors are 15-0 and can finish off the NBA's first ideal postseason with a victory here in Game 4. James had 39 points while Kyrie Irving had 38, but a last-minute run by Golden State secured their win.

But LeBron James isn't among those upset the Warriors were able to sign Durant during his free agency last summer.

The Warriors closed out the game on an 11-0 run. And if they helped, I thought Korver got a clean look. Golden State won 118-113. I played against some great teams, but I don't think no team has had this type of firepower.

UK moves to ease tensions after van attack on London Muslims
A vehicle hit pedestrians in London and there are "a number of casualties being worked on at the scene", according to authorities. The MCB later said on Twitter that the incident occurred outside the Muslim Welfare House, which is near the mosque.

James had 39 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists, but his attempt at a tying 3-pointer was blocked by Andre Iguodala and James stepped out of bounds after recovering it, slamming the ball to the court in frustration. Naturally, both of their moms were ecstatic after the huge win in Cleveland.

James opened Game 2 guarding Durant, but Richard Jefferson and Iman Shumpert also took turns guarding him.

James and Irving were relentless in the second half and it appeared they had done enough to get Cleveland over the top and perhaps back in the series. He's already scored 71 - though not all of them against James - while the player Durant replaced from last season (Harrison Barnes) scored just 65 points for the entire 2016 Finals.

The 7-footer finished 10 of 18 from the field with eight rebounds and four assists.

According to ESPN's research, the first two games of the series were played at a faster pace - possessions per minutes - than any of James' previous 212 playoff games.

The Cavaliers couldn't find a bucket in the game's final minutes. He claimed after the game that he was not worn out, but the load he had to carry in this one sure made him appear so. While the series is not over yet and the Warriors know no lead is safe, Durant put his team in the best position possible.

Irving scored 11 of his 17 first-half points in the second quarter, and James added 12 of his own for a game-high total in the period.

"No, only missed shots".
