Political observers will now be awaiting details of the Queen's speech which will outline the government program for new bills.
The Queen's Speech, which sets out the government's agenda for the course of the next parliamentary session, was originally due to take place tomorrow, but was moved to Wednesday as the Conservatives continued negotiations with the DUP.
The source added: "While talks are ongoing, it's important the government gets on with its business and we are confident there will be sufficient support across the House for passing the Queen's Speech".
Initially, the speech from the throne was scheduled for Monday June 19, but postponed until Wednesday.
British Brexit minister David Davis heads to Brussels on Monday to open divorce talks with the EU with a message that there should be "no doubt - we are leaving the European Union".
Foster had previously said an alliance between the DUP and Conservative Party would help defend Northern Ireland's position as the United Kingdom prepares to begin Brexit negotiations, which are due to kick off next week.
However Sinn Fein president Gerry Adams said they would oppose any deal which undermined the Good Friday Agreement, which commits the United Kingdom and Irish governments to demonstrate "rigorous impartiality" in their dealings with the different political traditions in Northern Ireland.
