Moscow: 'Zero' evidence Russian hackers involved in Qatar crisis

Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE and Bahrain announced on Monday they were cutting diplomatic ties and closing air, sea and land links with Qatar, giving Qataris within their borders two weeks to leave.

The Kuwaiti ruler played a pivotal role in mediating a compromise in a 2014 diplomatic dispute between Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other Gulf states.

Abu Dhabi is the biggest of seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates.

Berlin's main concern was to "de-escalate the conflict" and rebuild Gulf regional cooperation, saying that "we need this cooperation in the anti-Islamic State coalition".

Qatar's credit quality would decline if tensions with its Gulf neighbours continue for much longer, raising the country's debt ratio and hurting banks' liquidity, Moody's ratings agency said on Thursday.

With other Arab countries acknowledging and going out of their way to highlight Qatar's supposed terrorist links, the country more than ever faces a threat of global action being taken against them.
