Police identify Finsbury Park mosque suspect as 47yo Darren Osborne

A van ploughed into a crowd of Muslims near a London mosque early yesterday, leaving one person dead and injuring 10 others in the second terror attack this month in the British capital, reported AFP. And the guy was shouting, basically he was saying, "it's our turn, this is for the people [that] you killed earlier".

"There was this white van stopped outside Finsbury Park mosque that seemed to have hit people who were coming out after prayers had finished". All of the casualties were Muslims.

British Muslim leaders have requested additional security outside local mosques, according to The Guardian.

The London Ambulance Service took nine people to three London hospitals. She added that the man acted alone.

Metropolitan Police deputy assistant commissioner Neil Basu thanked members of the public for restraining the suspect. A helicopter circled above the area as a large cordon was established to keep motorists and pedestrians away.

"He turned left into the alleyway, and he just drove at people", eyewitness Abdiqadir Warra told AFP.

Brtitish Prime Minister Theresa May said during a televised address that "like all terrorism, in whatever form, [the attack] shares the same fundamental goal".

Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn said in a tweet he was shocked by the incident.

The terrorist alert in the United Kingdom has been moved to "severe", which indicates an attack is highly likely.
