External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Saturday announced the launch of 149 new Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK).

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj told Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who hails from the state, in a letter that her ministry has chose to open three more POPSKs in Odisha.

It may be recalled that the government had earlier also opened 86 POPSKs across the country.

Despite a flurry of late birdies it was not enough to turnaround an erratic round littered with errors and missed opportunities. And instead of leaving Erin Hills fretting about how much better he could've done, he was thankful it wasn't any worse.

"When I started at the Ministry, we had only 77 PSKs to cater to the whole nation". He urges Smt. Sushma Swaraj, Minister of External Affairs to open post Office Passport Sewa Kendra in Angul, Berhampur, Balasore, Kendrapada, Bolangir, Jajpur and Bhawanipatna. The POPSK program is a joint initiative by the MEA and the Department of Post. The Head Post Office at Phagwara has also been selected for it. Swaraj further added that the target for the second phase has been kept at 251 because it is an "auspicious number".

Under the programme, the Indian diaspora would visit the country for a 25-day tour fully funded by the government. Since 2004, 40 KIPs have been organised in partnership with state governments, with 1,293 participants in all.
