President Donald Trump acknowledged on Friday he is under investigation in a probe of alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 USA presidential race and possible collusion by his campaign - and seemed to assail the Justice Department official overseeing the inquiry.

Rachel noted on last night's show the blockbuster new report from the Washington Post. Trump said he felt "vindicated" by Comey's testimony. He said the president "sought my advice and input" on Comey's firing. Comey testified that Trump directed him in February to drop an FBI investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn relating to the Russian Federation matter.

On Wednesday, The Washington Post reported that Trump was under investigation for obstruction of justice, citing unnamed officials.

Comey testified before the Senate intelligence committee last week and confirmed that he gave Mueller the memos he wrote detailing his interactions with Trump ahead of his firing.

"The FBI leak of information regarding the president is outrageous, inexcusable and illegal", said Mark Corallo, a spokesman for Marc Kasowitz, Trump's personal lawyer.

Trump, however, referred to the Post's reporting as a "phony" story in a tweet Thursday.

Trump's Friday morning tweet capped off 24 hours of comments on Twitter about the investigation, including several remarks about his opponent in the 2016 election.

"Why is that Hillary Clintons family and Dems dealings with Russian Federation are not looked at, but my non-dealings are?" he asked.

Should they select an RFA, the team they are selecting him from will not be eligible for compensation as they normally would be. This provision also includes unsigned draft picks and signed players that have yet to appear in a National Hockey League game.

He then tweeted: "Crooked H destroyed phones w/ hammer, "bleached" emails, & had husband meet w/AG days before she was cleared- & they talk about obstruction?"

Mueller met Wednesday with the leaders of the Senate Intelligence Committee in an effort to ensure their investigations don't conflict. An aide familiar with the meeting said it was held to discuss the investigations, including ways that the parallel inquiries don't interfere with one another. The source spoke on condition of anonymity.

Trump did not identify "the man" but appeared to be questioning the integrity of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, the Justice Department's No. 2 official who appointed Mueller on May 17, supervises the probe and wrote a memo to Trump critical of Comey that preceded Comey's firing.

Trump on Thursday lashed out at the investigators driving the Russian Federation investigation as "very bad and conflicted people", responding angrily to reports that the special counsel is looking into whether Trump obstructed justice.

"That is a great, great team of complete professionals, so let's let him do his job", former independent counsel Kenneth Starr, who investigated President Bill Clinton in the 1990s, told ABC News. Dianne Feinstein, the panel's top Democrat.

Shortly thereafter, the President shocked the nation with the announcement that he had fired the controversial Federal Bureau of Investigation director he had only recently praised.
