Howard Stern sparks health fears by taking day off

Lest this sound like much baba booey about nothing, consider this: Hardcore fans of the show insist that Stern has never taken an unexpected day off in more than thirty years of broadcasts.

Stern's show is set to be back on schedule by Monday.

Page Six reports that the SiriusXM radio host abruptly dropped off the airwaves this week when he unexpectedly took a "personal day" Wednesday, per the on-air message explaining his absence (he didn't return Thursday or Friday, either, adding to the worry).

One fan tweeted that he was "very concerned about the reason" for Stern's absence as he's been listening to the show since the 1980s and the host "NEVER canceled a show before!"

One Reddit user said that Stern became "overly emotional" while talking about a song by Chris Stapleton when the country singer-songwriter appeared on Tuesday's episode. And, coincidentally or not, he said earlier this year he wouldn't do it unless a parent died.

That would suggest that there was every good reason to think the SNP's share of the vote would also go up last Thursday. But, equally, it could be a sign that the party has lost ground.

Known workaholic Stern hardly ever takes a sick day, so his abrupt cancellation on Wednesday took fans by surprise.

One commented, 'Peace and love to my hero @HowardStern, who has missed a live show for the first time ever this morning. "I hope everything is ok".

Other fan rumors have ranged from marriage issues between Stern and his wife Beth, to legal struggles between Stern and SiriusXM.
