A day after federal prosecutors formally subpoenaed the associates of former national security adviser Michael Flynn, the Senate Intelligence Committee has officially subpoenaed Flynn himself on Wednesday, as the investigation into Russia's involvement in the election intensifies.

Yates had two in-person meetings and a phone call with White House counsel Don McGahn on January 26 and January 27, respectively.

Trump's comments came after former acting attorney general Sally Yates said she told White House officials Flynn could be blackmailed for lying to the vice president about his Russian contacts.

In March, Kelner said in a statement that Flynn had a "story to tell", but said no reasonable person would agree to be questioned by the committee without "assurances against unfair prosecution". Spicer described her visit to the White House to warn of Flynn as a "heads-up".

WASHINGTON | Federal prosecutors have issued grand jury subpoenas seeking business records from people who worked with former USA national security adviser Michael Flynn when he was a private citizen, CNN reported on Tuesday.

Flynn was sacked by Trump after less than one month on the job. The White House finally took action in mid-February, after The Washington Post brought to light the relevant information.

Indeed, it is only by virtue of Falcinelli’s prowess in the final third that Crotone still remains in contention to survive. In Romelu Lukaku, Koeman has a player with the capability of firing Everton to far headier heights than seventh place.

President Trump has hired a private lawyer to inform Sen.

The controversy began during the transition period when Flynn spoke over the phone with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.

"This is someone who ultimately didn't even want to enforce it", White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said.

The February resignation followed media reports that Flynn had discussed United States of America -imposed sanctions on Russian Federation with Ambassador Sergey Kislyak during the presidential transition period, which was contrary to the public representations of the White House.

The Flynn inquiry is one piece of the broader investigation, which FBI Director James Comey testified in a Senate hearing last week is led jointly by the Alexandria US Attorney's Office and the Justice Department's National Security Division. "It hasn't recovered from that", Trump had said of Comey in an NBC interview. Mr Obama had cautioned against Mr Flynn, whom he fired in 2014 as head of the Defence Intelligence Agency because of his poor record in administration and personnel management.
