That provides the ability to mix the real world with the imaginary. However, last year, the company admitted that it would not be able to hit that target. However, the build doesn't yet include any of the brand-new features built into the OS that Microsoft previewed during Build today.
Technically called the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, it is an upcoming major software upgrade for existing Windows 10 users. "We're excited for our customers to take advantage of the new features in the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update that will empower innovative experiences; a modern, unified design for cross-device experiences; and an easier path for developers to create for the future of computing".
Microsoft debuted a new look and feel to Windows 10: Fluent Design System. You'll be able to copy and paste files off your PC and onto an Android phone or iPhone. This includes a new program, Story Remix, that uses artificial intelligence to find the best pieces of video footage, then cuts them together to make entertaining videos for work or play.
The really cool thing here is that Microsoft OneDrive will have a Files On-Demand feature.
"You can also create mixed reality by adding 3D objects to your photos and videos to tell stories in a whole new way, or turn your photos and videos into your canvas, drawing on them with Windows Ink", he said in his key note address to the thousands of developers gathered here from across the globe. You can even start making an video with Story Remix on an iPhone, but if you want to finish creating it on a Windows 10 PC, you can do that too.
NHS cyber attack: Russia Interior ministry hacked in worldwide crisis
The attack, circulated via email, corrupted accounts with "ransomware" files that locked users out of their computers. Hospitals across England have canceled appointments and turned away patients after suffering an apparent cyberattack.
On the other hand, the announcement may not come as good news to macOS users who look forward to iTunes breaking up into separate apps and Windows support falling back. Windows 10 is now on 500 million devices, which is halfway to Microsoft's publicly stated goal of getting Windows 10 on 1 billion devices worldwide.
The design change, known as the Microsoft Fluent Design System, will focus on emphasizing elements like light, motion, depth, and texture within Windows. Firstly, mixed reality headset dev kits from HP and Acer are now available for pre-order, starting at $329 and $299 respectively. Acer will sell a Windows Mixed Reality headset and motion controller bundle priced at $399 United States dollars this holiday season. Most of the changes are really minor on the design side right now, but Microsoft clearly has bigger overall plans with the Fluent Design System to gradually overhaul its Windows user interface.
The controllers will go on sale at the end of the year and are meant to help HoloLens rival the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive virtual reality systems that both went on sale last year. Earlier today, Microsoft also announced that iTunes will be coming to the Windows Store for Windows 10 S users.
Of course, this isn't a native Universal Windows Platform app - instead, Apple is using Microsoft's Desktop App Bridge to bring the classic iTunes app for Windows to the Windows Store.
