This year the Lyons Fire Protection District and Higher Ground Ministries will combine their efforts to celebrate Easter.
Children with special needs (12 and under) and their siblings can enjoy this special Easter Egg Hunt hosted by.the Wichita East/Southeast Lions Club and The Arc of Sedgwick County on Saturday. The event brought almost 500 children to Gregory Park Saturday.
Cheers, laughter and squeals of delight at finding an egg filled the air as the annual Easter Egg Hunt at Ridgeview Park in Waynesboro got underway Saturday morning.
A blanket of colorful chocolate eggs covered the grass field of Roosevelt Park on Saturday as children and adults excitedly joined the Easter weekend event.
The Animal Egg Hunt was a little different from a normal Easter egg hunt.

The kids went searching for the sound of beeping eggs, which allowed them to experience an Easter Egg Hunt in a whole new way.
"We all just made a decision to let them have their time in and let them get their turn because a lot of kids have needs that we can't sometimes go up to", said Gonzalez.
There will be food, fruit, doughnuts, juice, milk, coffee and games for all who attend the Egg Hunt.
Easter Mass - 8 a.m., 10 a.m., and 11:30 a.m. Those whose eggs survived got to smash them themselves on the tarp put down to catch the eggs that did not make it. For the second year in a row, Hoboken Grace Community Church's annual event expanded its operations, drawing more than 5,000 people for this year's festivities. Drawings will be held after each egg hunt for some fantastic prizes. At 11:00 a.m., volunteers took the age groups out to designated fields throughout the park.
This hunt, all ears as visually impaired children search for the eggs making a beeping noise.
