Another bomb cyclone could strike Nebraska this week

Last month, a deadly bomb cyclone hit Colorado and Nebraska, killing several people.

The next slam dunk for the Twin Cities, now that the Final Four basketball hoopla has come and gone, is snow - and possibly, a lot of it.

Greg Carbin, forecast branch chief for the National Weather Service's Weather Storm Prediction Center, said that while rare, repeat patterns for severe weather are known to occur.

"But not up to the levels we had during the snow melt", Schmidt said.

Blizzard warnings were posted from Colorado to Minnesota on Wednesday and wildfires were a concern in New Mexico, Texas and Oklahoma as the second so-called "bomb cyclone" storm in less than a month hit the central USA, raising the prospect of renewed flooding in the already drenched Midwest. "Things are beginning to dry out, but now there's a huge blizzard predicted". Forecasters have issued another bomb cyclone warning as part of this new storm system.

The rain that moves in ahead of the snow in South Dakota and Nebraska could cause some immediate flood concerns, whereas the amount of fresh snow across the Plains and Midwest will be a more long-term threat. Blizzard warnings were also posted for southeastern Wyoming, including Cheyenne, from Wednesday into Thursday.

Investigators say there was also a bag filled with cash and a vape pen containing suspected THC oil, according to WAFB . Jeff Bugg approached the auto and spoke with the driver who just happened to be Boosie , real name Torrence Hatch Jr.

"The highest snow totals are probably going to be around 3 feet for central and northeast South Dakota, with 50 to 60 miles per hour wind - an all-out blizzard", Moehler says. So Wednesday's PM commute will be impacted by rain and snow, but even into Thursday morning we could see some slick spots on the roads.

Cold, wet weather is expected through the remainder of the work week.

WHAT.Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches possible.

Some areas of western Minnesota and southeast South Dakota were expected to get up to 30 inches of wet, heavy snow, the NWS said. Heavy snow and high winds will result in blizzard conditions. But the intensity of the coming switch has caught forecasters' attention - and they're warning people to keep a cautious eye on conditions that could quickly turn unsafe. As is usually the case with these springs storms, this system will be dynamic, and with that expect to see some thunderstorms at least on the onset of tomorrow's weather across eastern Colorado. "Some of this might be record territory".

It is the only county in the entire state that is not under a National Weather Service Winter Storm Warning that begins Wednesday night and runs through Friday morning.

Announcing a blizzard warning for west central Minnesota Tuesday, the Twin Cities NWS office asked residents, "Have you taken your winter safety items out of your vehicle for the season?"
