Caroline Wozniacki reached her first final of the season on Saturday (Sunday in Manila) after defeating Petra Martic in straight sets in the semi-finals of the Charleston Open. "And then -- and then in the second set it was really just stay on it, stay on it, try not to think about anything else, and just really happy that I was able to close it out". Isaac finished 10th in the competition, but did get the experience of a lifetime and got to meet former Masters Champion Adam Scott.
Keys, seeded eighth and ranked 18th in the world, continually hit big serves - she reached 121 miles per hour - and overwhelming forehands to wear down the fifth-seeded Wozniacki of Denmark and win her fourth career WTA event.
World No. 13 Wozniacki grabbed a 4-2 lead in the second set, but the 16th-seeded Martic bounced back to level at 4-4 before Wozniacki broke back and closed out the match.
Belarus' Victoria Azarenka on Saturday used her superior serving and punishing groundstrokes to upset top seed Angelique Kerber of Germany 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 in Mexico's Monterrey Open.
"I just think I've had a positive attitude this week, and I think I've played some smart tennis", Wozniacki said in her news conference.
Meghan Markle's birth plan for the royal baby
A spokesman for Kensington Palace, the couple's London residence, called the story "totally false". Meanwhile, it's being reported that Meghan is under dire pressure of being the "perfect" mom.
Break-point chances came for Wozniacki at 3-2 and 4-3, but Keys held firm to take the opener into a breaker.
"I just really wanted to play the right way and have a really great week of practice and trying to get some matches, and then obviously as time went, feeling more and more confident out there and walking away as the victor".
Last season, Wozniacki won three singles title and had a much better spell on the tour than Keys. "I had just gotten broken and I got to go inside and reset".
Keys beamed and bent her knees and elbows in celebration after putting away Wozniacki's return at the net on match point. She has more experience in comparison to Keys and it is quite evident that she has put her recent loss of form behind.
"Honestly, it was good", she said.
