Scaramucci's appointment by President Trump did not go without controversy, directly triggering Sean Spicer to resign from his position as White House press secretary, according to the AP.
Scaramucci announced Sarah Huckabee Sanders will be promoted to be the next White House press secretary.
The biggest change of the day however was the appointment of Wall Street financier Anthony Scaramucci as Mr Trump's Communications Director.
Wearing a blue tie and an American flag pin on a dark suit, Scaramucci bantered with correspondents, pledged to be transparent and even made respectful remarks about CNN, the cable network with which Trump and Spicer have sparred repeatedly.
Spicer tweeted about his resignation on Friday saying it's been "an honor". This source added that Spicer anxious Scaramucci wouldn't know Washington and that it would fall to Spicer to do both jobs, which he considered to be untenable.
"This is obviously a hard situation but I wish him well and I hope he goes on to make a tremendous amount of money", said Mr Scaramucci, holding court yesterday in the White House press room and repeatedly professing his "love" for Mr Spicer and Mr Trump. "He was my first call this morning... and we are committed, as true professionals, to the team and the process of getting the administration's message out".

Team Sky's Froome also believes overall victory is not yet certain despite having completed "the toughest part of the Tour". Froome said: 'I'm always honoured to wear the yellow jersey and at the end of the day it's about the legs'.
Spicer says of Scaramucci's hiring: "It'll be great, he's a tough guy".
Scaramucci will formally take the reins of White House communications office August 15.
Spicer added that he believed it was in the best interest of the White House to not have "too many cooks in the kitchen". In recent weeks, though, Sanders has delivered briefings, and they've largely gone off-camera.
Sean Spicer is out as White House press secretary, according to multiple media reports.
Scaramucci addressed the issue during his first briefing on Friday. With a laugh, he said the president still brings it up.
Anthony Scaramucci speaks at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017. Former RNC Chair Reince Priebus had recommended Spicer to Trump.
