Police suspend investigation into Elliott incident

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on July 14 Elliott is "bracing" for a short suspension from the National Football League for his off-field exploits.

The investigatory part of the process is nearing completion, sources say, and the league has shared its findings with the NFLPA, Elliott and his representatives.

The story of Ezekiel Elliott has consumed Cowboys fans - and much of the National Football League in general - this offseason, with rumors consistently percolating about a possible punishment for the second-year running back, stemming from a 2016 domestic violence incident that the National Football League has been investigating for over a year. And according to Dan Patrick, NFL owners are pressuring commissioner Roger Goodell to wrap up the investigation and dole out some sort of punishment to Elliott.

Both players have won major championships, with Koepka posting a four-stroke victory at this year's U.S. I envisage the scoring going up considerably tomorrow so taking a price about anyone tonight is risky.

Elliott was never arrested and the Columbus City Attorney's Office declined to file charges, citing conflicting and inconsistent information. But the OH allegation wasn't the only matter investigators looked into. Dallas police suspended its investigation in the matter Wednesday because of a lack of witnesses and a lack of cooperation from the alleged victim.

What these workouts could confirm is the fact the Dallas Cowboys have some level of concern about Ezekiel Elliott's availability and want to make sure they have adequate depth behind him in order to insure his possible absence doesn't hinder the team.

Elliott wasn't named in the original police report. The NFL generally tries to close these cases before the calendar gets too close to the start of the regular season in September out of fairness to clubs.
