UCLA evacuated students and residents from campus housing after receiving a bomb threat Thursday evening.

An email sent out today read: "Bomb threat at Sunset Recreation centre". Campus police asked for assistance from the local police bomb squad. This is in the vicinity of Sprout Hall, Spoul Landing and Headrick Hall. At midnight, students were from Dykstra Hall and De Neve Plaza Hall were allowed to return to their digs.

Large crowds of students evacuating the dorms gathered at Drake Stadium. UCLA BruinAlert, the campus emergency emergency notification system, had been updating the situation as it progressed, advising residents to remain indoors and avoid the area until otherwise instructed.
