The first trailer for Stronger, the Jake Gyllenhaal movie about the Boston Marathon Bombing, is finally here.
Peter Berg's Patriots Day earned solid reviews when it hit theaters a year ago, but the way that movie invented a single character who appeared at all of the major turning points of the 2013 Boston bombing struck me as disingenuous.
The trailer for Jake Gyllenhaal's newest film, Stronger, just dropped and it totally made us tear up.
Lionsgate also produced "Patriots Day", another Boston bombing film starring Mark Wahlberg.
Census: Every Ethnic Group Growing, Whites At Slowest Rate
The nation's median age is 37.9 years as of July 1, 2016, compared to 35.3 years in 2000, the Census Bureau reported Thursday. The Capital Region reflects the national trend as its population grows more diverse and older, according to the latest U.S.
"Show up?" Gyllenhaal screams.
Bauman was standing at the finish line to support Hurley in the race when two bombs detonated in the 2013 terrorist attack that killed three people and injured hundreds more. In the past couple of years, however, his career has taken a turn towards indie drama, and Stronger certainly seems to tap into those developing skills.
Stronger is in theaters September 22. After waking up in the hospital and helping Boston police identify one of the bombers, Bauman faces an emotional and physical journey as he struggles with months of rehabilitation and a city that sees him as a symbol of hope. Filled with raw emotion, humanity and humor, Stronger is the inspirational real-life story of the man who became the living embodiment of "Boston Strong".
The film also stars Academy Award nominee Miranda Richardson and Clancy Brown, and is directed by David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express, Our Brand is Crisis) from a screenplay by John Pollono based on the book "Stronger" by Jeff Bauman and Bret Witter.
