A raft of new laws that aim to ensure the United Kingdom secures "the best possible deal" after leaving the European Union (EU) have been announced in today's Queen's speech.

A host of proposed new laws created to prepare the United Kingdom for a "smooth and orderly" departure from the European Union have been announced.

May's programme for government was largely restricted to the technical work of making sure Brexit can happen: a bill that sets out how the government will transpose huge swathes of European Union law into British law and separate bills on related topics such as immigration, customs and fisheries.

And while the Labour leader said he has no plans to abolish the institution, he appeared to make his beliefs quite clear during the Queen's Speech today. "Clearly the European Union still inspires some in the United Kingdom", he tweeted.

According to the UK's Office of National Statistics (ONS), there are around 20,000 Goans holding Portuguese/EU passports who live and work in the UK. Do they have to become a United Kingdom citizen or go home?

Pensions were also left out of the Queen's speech.

But we'll also need the support of the whole Parliament if British farming is to have a profitable future in a post-Brexit world.

For instance, the Queen rode to parliament in a black auto as opposed to a royal carriage.

Instead, the Conservatives lost seats and May still hasn't secured a deal with another party to insure Parliament will back the government's agenda.

The Queen's Speech announced a government consultation on social care funding for the elderly which is unlikely to feature the contentious "Dementia tax" which backfired on prime minister Theresa May during her election campaign, said Selby.
