On Saturday morning, he might have been convicted for one: the case of Andrea Constand, a former Temple University employee who accuses the embattled comedian of molesting her after giving her drugs at his home in 2004.
Later, after the jury was out of the room, O'Neill said the trial was the "largest undertaking in probably the history of this county" and thanked public and the news media for their good behavior in the courtroom.
The trial has irrevocably damaged the legacy of Cosby, once a towering figure in U.S. popular culture best known for his seminal role as a lovable father and obstetrician on hit 1984-92 TV series The Cosby Show.
The case was the only one to result in a criminal trial, largely because the other accusations were too old to prosecute.
The entertainer had no visible reaction in court.
"She's a very spiritual woman, she believes things happen for a goal, and I think the objective is.it should encourage other women to come forward and have their day in court", said her lawyer, Dolores Troiani.

The comedian also faces a defamation lawsuit by model Janice Dickinson, who claims Mr Cosby drugged and raped her in Lake Tahoe, California, in 1982.

Constand did not speak to reporters, but her attorney, Dolores Troiani, said Constand was a "very spiritual person who believes everything happens for a reason".
Cosby's starring role as beloved dad Heathcliff Huxtable in "The Cosby Show" made him a household name, bolstering a reputation built on years of family-friendly standup comedy routines. He became an in-demand product endorser, appearing in commercials for Jell-O, Coca-Cola and Ford. And so it is, you know, very hard to make the conviction on rape, you know, especially on evidence like this that is, you know, frankly quite old.
She said that Cosby brought her three blue pills, saying they would help her relax and assuring her they were safe.
The comedian's lawyers maintained throughout the trial their client and Constand's sexual relationship was consensual.
The accuser, Constand Andrea, took the stand during the trial, telling the court the assault had left her feeling "humiliated" by someone she considered a friend and mentor.
Cosby chose not to testify at the trial. "And for all those attorneys who conspired like Gloria Allred, tell them to go back to law school and take another class". As it turned out, the deliberations ended up taking longer than the presentation of evidence did. Cosby has denied all of the charges, and has only been criminally charged in the Constand case. She sued Cosby in a civil suit and settled for an undisclosed amount in 2006.
Prosecutors reopened a criminal investigation and filed charges in 2015 after Mr Cosby's deposition in the woman's 2005 lawsuit was unsealed, and they realised the 12-year statute of limitations for felony sexual assault had not yet expired.
