Spanish prosecutors said on Tuesday that the Portuguese manager owes Spanish tax authorities 3.3 million euros ($3.7 million), a Madrid prosecutor said in a statement, adding it had presented a claim to a local court.

Spanish authorities have also recently filed papers against Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo, who is accused of evading tax of some 14.7m euros (£12.8m) by hiding income from image rights.

The 54-year-old Mourinho, who coached Madrid from 2010-13, now coaches Manchester United.

Ronaldo and Mourinho are the latest members of the soccer elite to be accused of tax fraud in Spain.

In the season just gone he struck 42 times to help them win the Spanish division title for the first time since 2012 and is now focusing his efforts on Portugal at the Confederations Cup.

AIFs will also be required to comply with SEBI and RBI's guidelines pertaining to the corpus received from non-resident Indians. Another discussion paper will be floated for ways to help develop equity derivatives markets.

Cristiano Ronaldo will have to appear in court to testify in his tax fraud case, while Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly the next football personality to be investigated.

Allegations of tax fraud - which have been denied by the Portugal global - as well as the possibility of seeking a new challenge have brought his time in Spain to question and Ronaldo admits he's keen to see the Red Devils tie up a deal for the reigning Ballon d'Or victor.

The state prosecutor based the accusations on information provided by Spain's Tax Office, which indicate that Mourinho used shell companies in the Virgin Islands and Ireland to "hide profits made from image rights".

In July 2016, Lionel Messi and his father Jorge were found guilty on three counts of defrauding the tax department to the tune of €4.1m (£3.5m).

Former Barca defender Javier Mascherano also agreed a one-year suspended sentence with authorities for tax fraud last year.
