In addition, SpiceJet has taken the purchase rights for 25 additional Q400 aircraft.

SpiceJet, which has drawn up ambitious expansion plans, has signed a letter of intent with Bombardier Commercial Aircraft to buy up to 50 Q400 turboprop aircraft.

"We feel there is a lot of potential for the aircraft (Q400) on global sectors... for example, flights to Colombo", added Singh. "We will use this for our Cebu hub to replace older Q400", he said.

Bombardier has now recorded a total of 585 Q400 aircraft on firm order.

The planes, that are traditionally smaller than other planes and have just an 86 passenger model, will be used for travel between Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.

That huge pile of receipts busted the record for the highest-grossing opening weekend for a film directed by a woman . The studio will begin negotiating a deal with Jenkins sometime soon, though it's not clear exactly when.

"I think most people in our industry view this as an attack on innovation", said Fred Cromer, president of Bombardier Commercial Aircraft, Monday.

"Recently there seems to be a lot of discussion about whether there is a market opportunity for a larger turboprop-but guess what?" This is over and above its previous order of 100 737 MAX series of aircraft it placed with a Boeing earlier this year, a deal valued at $11 billion. The airline connects its network with a fleet of 35 Boeing 737NG and 20 Bombardier Q400. "But we were given assurance by the engine manufacturer this will be fixed by next year so, our first aircraft delivery of the neo will be in 2018 January", he said. In the fiscal year ended December 31, 2016, we posted revenues of $16.3 billion.
