The 15-inch MacBook Pro now comes standard with more powerful discrete graphics with more video memory, and the 13-inch MacBook Pro adds a new S$1,898 configuration.
Jan Dawson, principal analyst with Jackdaw Research notes that Apple made a mistake pitching the iPad as a replacement for the PC previous year. Still, it's a change worth noting because it improves your experience looking at the screen, particularly if you're doing a lot of online reading on the tablet. There is also a new Files app so you have easy access to all of your files, even if they're in a cloud service such as Dropbox. Hanging onto a laptop might be a bit cumbersome, but your iPhone is too dang tiny, so the iPad Pro is the in-between you'll need.
Coupled with the interactive Apple Pencil for annotations and note taking, the keyboard and pencil combo will set you back just under $350 CAD, before you even buy the device! If you're already using one of the iPad Pros, you can probably keep that for now and you'll be fine for a couple of years.
"As I said when the 12" MacBook model was launched, it made ideal sense for Apple to offer a simple, port-less model for those who want - in effect - an iPad with a permanent keyboard.
You'll have to turn the screen around to see the most significant physical difference between the two: the iMac Pro has two extra I/O ports.
