New York Mets reliever Jeurys Familia has been diagnosed with an arterial clot is his right shoulder, according to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com, who also reported that the pitcher is going to St. Louis to undergo further testing.
Familia was examined by doctors at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City earlier in the day.
Placed the following players on the 10-Day Disabled List, retroactive to March 30: OF JUAN LAGARES (left oblique), RHP SETH LUGO (right elbow infl ammation), LHP STEVEN MATZ (left elbow infl ammation), OF BRANDON NIMMO (right hamstring) and INF DAVID WRIGHT (cervical disc herniation). Familia was initially shaky upon his return to NY in mid-April from a 15-game suspension for violating the league's domestic violence policy, allowing six walks in his first four appearances, but he had seemingly settled back into All-Star form of late; Wednesday's outing saw him give up a run for the first time since April 27. In fact, the velocity on his two-seam fastball averaged 96.5 miles per hour this season, representing a slight bump from a year ago.
Wheeler (2-2) went six innings in his best start since missing two seasons while recovering from Tommy John surgery. CF Denard Span (sprained shoulder) was scheduled to play seven innings in his second rehab game with Class A San Jose.
The Blue Jays recalled right-hander Leonel Campos from Triple-A Buffalo. It was his fifth home run of the season.

The move frees up space to reinstate lefty Hyun-Jin Ryu, who started Thursday night against the Colorado Rockies. Seeing his ERA over 3.00 is a bit surprising, as he is usually an excellent regular season pitcher.
