Trump Suggests Canceling Daily Briefing, Doing Press Conferences Himself Every Two Weeks

But while the ritual has held its own against presidents of every political leaning, and events that have defined our modern era, there's apparently one thing the daily briefings can't handle: the presidency of Donald Trump. He agreed with Pirro's assertion that he moves so quickly, his communications staff can not keep up. "We don't have them". "I think it's a good idea", he answered. "Unless I have them every two weeks - and I do it myself".

"You don't mean that?" she asked. "We do it through a piece of paper with a perfectly accurate, attractive answer".

President Trump just made very clear in an interview with Fox News' Jeanine Pirro that he's totally serious about cancelling press conferences.

"I'll tell you what, they'll be very unhappy", Trump said of news networks, "because the ratings are so high that I don't know what these networks are going to do".

Trump fumed about what he called "unfair" treatment toward his press staff over the last several weeks.

Spurs roll over Rockets, into conference finals
He sat out San Antonio's final possession of regulation and overtime in the Spurs' 110-107 game-five victory on Tuesday. Celtics guard, Avery Bradley led all scorers in the game with 29 points, 25 of which came in the first half.

Trump also defended White House spokesman Sean Spicer and his deputy, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who was in the hot seat for two days on the Comey firing.

TRUMP: Just don't have 'em.

But when Pirro asked whether Spicer "will be there tomorrow", Trump would only say: "He's doing a good job, but he gets beat up". "They're liars. They're liars, they're disgusting people, they're liars, the press goes".

Mr Trump made the suggestion during an interview with Fox News that is set to air this weekend.
