Israeli police says a police officer has shot dead a Jordanian attacker who stabbed him in the Old City of Jerusalem.
A knife was then pulled out and the man stabbed the officer in the chest, but the officer managed to hold off the assailant off and fired his weapon.
The victim was evacuated by paramedics to the Shaare Zedek Medical Center, Jerusalem, fully conscious and in stable condition with stab wounds to the upper body.
A second man was lightly wounded, with cuts to the hand.
A video uploaded by the Palestinian Quds News Network appeared to show the aftermath of the attack, with policemen attending to the injured officer and the alleged attacker lying inert on the ground.
