Spurs soar in role players' star turn

After suffering a grueling loss to the San Antonio Spurs late Thursday night (May 11), Houston Rockets star James Harden was thrashed by social media for his lackluster performance.

During Thursday's Game 6, Harden finished with a subpar tally of 10 points and 7 assists while attempting only 11 shots from 37 minutes on the court.

"Everybody picked it up". No one should be able to say that after his next big game.

The Spurs are now rewarded with the Golden State Warriors, a series in which the Spurs will absolutely need Leonard. One problem. Somebody forgot to tell the Rockets to show up for the most important game of the year as they came in and absolutely stunk up the place to the tune of a 114-75 beat-down. "I know they feel as bad as I do".

As fans, we hope for good games.

Heading into Game 6 Thursday night against the Houston Rockets, the San Antonio Spurs looked vulnerable with Kawhi Leonard (left ankle) out. Trevor Ariza (ah-REE'-zah) was Houston's top scorer with 20 points.

For those of you who are not gamblers, that means, at the Las Vegas Sportsbook, you'd have to put up $1,600 to win $100 on the Warriors to win the series.

Syria safe zones to come into force
A war monitoring group said there were no initial reports of casualties. "All Syrian flights over these areas will cease". Iran says it is a massive step toward the de-escalation of the long-standing conflict and bloodshed in Syria .

Harden missed only one game during the regular season and logged 2,947 minutes, which was third in the National Basketball Association. San Antonio carried a 19-point lead into the second half and removed all doubt by outscoring the Rockets 27-11 in the final period. The Rockets' 75 points were second-lowest in a game during the Harden era.

The Western Conference Finals start now, and this is where Aldridge will be pushed to his absolute limits.

"We didn't quite get it done, but you know, it's a long way from being over and we'll find that energy", D'Antoni said. "I was going to get the ball a little bit more, so I was trying to be more demanding down there, trying to make things happen". "Coach and I briefly saw him after (game six)".

Mills, starting his second game in the series at point guard, finished with 14 points and nailed two 3-pointers.

"Kawhi is a great player, but we have guys that are ready to play and the organization works these guys out every day", Aldridge said.

The Cavaliers await the victor of the series and if either one of these teams wants a chance of competing with Cleveland, they're going to have to figure out how to win on the road. They should absolutely head into the summer content with what they got out of the Harden-D'Antoni pairing in year one and look to build on that identity.
