Sarah Huckabee Sanders admits Trump fired Comey to end Russian Federation probe

In a letter sent to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein on Thursday, the attorneys general described Trump's firing of FBI Director James Comey in the middle of his investigation "a violation of the public trust". White House press secretary Sean Spicer told reporters on Tuesday that the Department of Justice - specifically Rosenstein - had determined Comey needed to go because of how he handled the probe. "I hold Director Comey in the absolute highest regard".

At a Senate intelligence hearing on Thursday, acting FBI director Andrew McCabe pledged to inform lawmakers if there is any official interference into the bureau's investigation into the Russian Federation ties.

Again, Trump brought the issue back to Russian Federation, referencing a former head of intelligence's assertion that Trump was, to his knowledge, not colluding with Moscow.

LANKFORD: You have the resources you need for the Russian investigation, correct? Dick Durbin, D-Ill., said that while he couldn't be certain the request triggered Comey's dismissal, he said he believed the FBI "was breathing down the neck of the Trump campaign and their operatives and this was an effort to slow down the investigation". Instead they said the meeting was about how best to examine Russian activities during the presidential election without hindering a parallel Federal Bureau of Investigation probe.

Sanders attributed the disconnect in the week's explanations to the fact that she had not directly asked Trump when he'd made the decision to fire Comey until shortly before Thursday's press briefing. "Perhaps Trump just ran a great campaign?"

Asking such a question "would come close to bribery. or at least obstruction of justice, which Comey would've had to be an idiot to fall for by offering the assurance sought", Tribe said.

Six days later, the White House announced Comey's dismissal citing recommendations from Sessions and his deputy Rosenstein. Second, he said that the investigation has all the resources it needs. Later in the dinner, Mr. Trump again said to Mr. Comey that he needed his loyalty.

Andrew McCabe, testifying before Congress in place of his fired boss, told lawmakers a counterintelligence investigation that a White House spokeswoman dismissed a day earlier as "one of the smallest things" on the FBI's plate was actually "highly significant". His assertions came as Comey's temporary replacement joined in, contradicting other administration statements on the snowballing controversy.

President Trump just jumped on Rosie O'Donnell's bandwagon - and no, Hell is NOT freezing over.as far as we know. Attorney General Jeff Sessions seconded the recommendation.

Sanders dodged questions about why even Vice President Mike Pence said Wednesday that Trump made a decision to fire Comey because of Rosenstein's memo. The letter criticized Comey's decision not to charge former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for her use of a private email server, arguing that he overstepped his authority by bypassing then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch.

"I said, if it's possible would you let me know, 'Am I under investigation?' Trump told Holt".
