Cristiano Ronaldo took his European scoring tally to 100 goals with a match-winning double tonight.

Cristiano Ronaldo ended a seven-month Champions League goal drought as holders Real Madrid came from behind to beat 10-man Bayern Munich in the first leg of their quarter-final in Munich. It was a special day with a really important victory.

"I'm very happy. I want to thank Real Madrid for the opportunity to build a wonderful career at this club, and to my teammates as well". Los Blancos have responded by scoring in the 47th minute.

The Portuguese has now scored 82 goals in 84 appearances in the Champions League for Madrid. "We probably could have scored one or two more goals, but we're very happy", the Real coach said at a press conference. "Those who doubt Cristiano are wrong", said full-back Marcelo. For me it's an honour to reach such a hard figure.

Arturo Vidal's thumping header steered manager Carlo Ancelotti's side into the lead before Ronaldo equalised early in the second half and added a late victor after Javi Martinez's 60th-minute sending off.

Bayern keeper Manuel Neuer denied Ronaldo and Gareth Bale with fine stops and the tie firmly swung in Real's favor in the 61st minute when Javi Martinez was sent off following two quick-fire yellow cards. The win put the defending champions on course to reach the semifinals for a seventh successive year.

That was a wicked shot by Turris that ended his scoring slump at nine games, a goal that put the Senators in front 2-1. Cassidy has been with the organization a long time, going on eight seasons, and has certainly paid his dues.

"We have an advantage and I hope the fans are with us and will help us because it'll be a tough battle".

Zidane was delighted with Real Madrid's 2-1 away win but said that nothing is won yet, and that his team will have to "suffer" at the Bernabeu next Tuesday.

"We believe we can still do it, we were the better team in the first half, could have made it 2-0 or 3-0", Neuer told ZDF.

"We're still alive, we're not dead", added Bayern Munich coach Carlo Ancelotti.

"We will look to take our chance".

"It is awesome to get to 100 goals in Europe". The last time Madrid failed to score was in April, in a 0-0 draw at Manchester City in the Champions League semifinals. We got the ball moving better, created clear chances, but we didn't have that little bit of luck that you always need. "We like playing these key games to win titles".
