It's hard to believe, but today marks the one-year anniversary of the death of Prince. Prince was declared dead at 10:04 a.m. on April 21, 2016, due to an accidental overdose of fentanyl. He says Prince fans were somewhat complicit in his addiction, which was likely a result of the chronic pain he suffered after years of performing. In addition, at his home and recording studio-turned-museum, a full four days of events are on tap. Prince's best-selling songs past year include "Purple Rain", with 621,000 downloads, followed by "Little Red Corvette", "Let's Go Crazy" and "Kiss".

Prince would try to recapture the formula with Apollonia 6, with diminishing returns.

"I think that there's really a huge reintroduction that needs to happen, to generate an awareness for those who weren't around for the glory years to know what this guy was really about", Light added.
