Following the stirring four-wicket win on Friday in which they successfully chased a target in excess of 300 in an ODI for the first time, the home side bowled with goal and discipline through most of the innings but faded badly under the assault of Azam and Wasim at the end, conceding 84 runs off seven overs.

Hafeez and Shadab Khan, making his ODI debut after an outstanding T20 series, provided what seemed the critical breakthroughs but Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed paid a heavy price for relying on his faster bowlers to complete victory.

He surpassed England's Jonathan Trott who scored 1280 runs after his initial 25 ODI innings. "It's obvious what we have to target".

"I have achieved a lot in my career", Misbah said, as quoted by CricBuzz.

"Everybody is comfortable with one another". It is understood the chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq was keen for both to retire after the West Indies tour, allowing them a proper farewell and a chance for Younis to get to 10,000. Whether the PCB had an influence on this decision is hard to say but given the stable head on Misbah's shoulders, it is probably a conclusion that is well thought out and in the best interests of the team he has groomed for many years. Chadwick Walton's 80 runs in the T20I series were impressive enough to earn him a spot in the first two ODIs as West Indies' reserve wicketkeeper, behind Shai Hope. Even when you are not playing, you still need to go into the nets and do what you have to do to stay sharp, so that when you get into the game, you are able to make the most of that opportunity. His innings was studded with three sixes and seven fours.

Later, BJD leaders took a dig at the BJP-led government at the Centre for ignoring the genuine demands of the state. Arun Jaitley, PM Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and LK Advani at BJP's national executive meeting.

"This does not come as a surprise, the news has been circulating for a while so everyone was expecting it; I don't think this comes as a shock to anyone", he said. Coming in to bat early, there was a little bit of pressure in terms of strike rate and stuff but I knew that I had to play myself in and rotate the strike and gain momentum, and take it down to the end as much as possible.

This series will be crucial for Pakistan to find an automatic qualification to the ICC World Cup 2019 who are placed at No. 8 in comparison to No. 9 ranked West Indies who are also sailing in the same boat.

But, Misbah's form and the team's fortunes dipped in the series against New Zealand and Australia.

Younis is the second high-profile player to retire this month after his team mate Misbah-ul-Haq also announced his decision to quit on Thursday following months of speculation.
