With snap elections, they will now be held on June 8.
British lawmakers on Wednesday overwhelmingly backed Prime Minister Theresa May's call for a snap election, paving the way for a June vote she hopes will give her a "mandate to complete Brexit".
The early election is the latest twist a turbulent year in British politics, which was plunged into turmoil when the country unexpectedly voted to leave the European Union last year. Polls suggest the ruling Conservative Party stands to significantly expand its slim, 17-seat majority in the House of Commons.
But even if she fails to win a majority, Brexit would not be stopped, unless every anti-Brexit Member of Parliament were to back a temporary government and vote to hold a second national referendum. "That is what this is about", she said.
She said holding an election in June, rather than as scheduled in 2020, will give the country "certainty and stability" as it negotiates its departure from the EU.
"That would be in nobody's interest", May said.
As the measure does not need approval from the House of Lords, the process of dissolving parliament next month in advance of the election will now get underway.
There was never any real doubt about Mrs May securing the backing needed to go to the country, with both Labour's Jeremy Corbyn and Liberal Democrat Tim Farron saying they welcomed the election - though Scottish National Party MPs abstained in the vote.
The Labour leader rallied activists in key target seat Croydon Central with a speech in which he highlighted a string of recent policy promises to build council houses, help carers and boost the minimum wage.
Russian Federation criticizes United Kingdom over canceling Johnson's trip
Russian Federation had its own military personnel at the Syrian military airport that the USA struck with cruise missiles. Nikki Haley and Tillerson both had indicated that removing Assad from power was no longer a US priority.
Live TV debates took place for the first time in a United Kingdom general election in 2010, with three clashes between the leaders of the three biggest national parties, Gordon Brown, David Cameron and Nick Clegg.
IG said the prices would lead to a Conservative majority of 90 seats giving them a "strong mandate for governing".
But as the media circus settles on Whitehall, and party machines begin to grind themselves into gear, it's vital to remember that this election is still a chance to kick out our (still unelected) Prime Minister; to utilise the cogs of democracy and to have our voices heard.
"The prime minister's attempt to dodge scrutiny shows how she holds the public in contempt", he said. The Lib Dems now have just nine seats in Parliament. In 2010 and 2015 the number of young and first time voters going to the polls was up on previous elections.
In short, May is trying to make sure she gets a hard Brexit passed since the people voted to leave the EU. "It's about. getting the right deal from Europe", she said.
"If we're negotiating at a point that is quite close to a general election, I think the Europeans might have seen that as a time of weakness when they could push us", she explained. Leaders of European Union states are due to adopt negotiating guidelines at an April 29 summit, and the bloc will prepare detailed plans for the talks with Britain by late May.
May had ruled out appearing in TV debates popularised by her predecessor, David Cameron, after announcing a snap election yesterday.
Mr Munro added: "There is a proven track record over two elections and two referendums that debates reach huge audiences including a lot of young people who don't watch conventional political coverage in great numbers".
