The season is over, but the New York Knicks continue their losing ways. So Minnesota will be slotted to pick sixth and the Knicks seventh.

The Knicks and Timberwolves will have the same number of pingpong balls in the May 16 lottery - each team has an 18.2 percent of chance of landing a top-three selection and a 5.3 percent shot at the top pick.

The 2017 National Basketball Association draft lottery is scheduled for Tuesday, May 16. Minnesota has a 43.9 percent chance to retain the No. 6 pick, 33.1 percent for No. 7, 4.5 percent for No. 8 and 0.01 percent for No. 9.

Prospects expected to be available at the seventh selection and be decent fits include French point guard Frank Ntilikina and North Carolina State point guard Dennis Smith Jr.

Chelsea wary of Spurs
Next for the Cherries is a visit from Middlesbrough at the Vitality Stadium, a side that has struggled to score goals this season. With six games remaining, Spurs have more points than last season when they finished third behind Leicester and Arsenal.

Tuesday's tiebreaker occurred because the Knicks won their season finale against the Sixers on a game-winner by Maurice N'dour, while Carmelo Anthony was benched during what was likely his final moments with the organization. He also has a ridiculous 7-foot wingspan which he can use in becoming a great defender, per Daily Knicks.

At one point the Knicks had a chance to finish with the fourth or fifth-worst record in the league, but won four of their last nine while playing their rookies.

"We're hoping this draft pick will be a player of some talent". Ties will also be broken between the Chicago Bulls and Portland Trail Blazers for 15th and 16th, the Indiana Pacers and Milwaukee Bucks for 17th and 18th, the Atlanta Hawks and Memphis Grizzlies (whose pick goes to Portland) for 19th and 20th and the Cleveland Cavaliers (to Portland), LA Clippers, Toronto Raptors and Utah Jazz for 23rd through 26th. But he's frustrated about the ongoing drama and the direction of the franchise.
