Hasan Ali (R) of Pakistan celebrates the dismissal of Jason Holder (L) of West Indies during the 2nd ODI match between West Indies and Pakistan at Guyana National Stadium, Providence, Guyana, on Sunday. He further said that Pakistan should also support the player who will be made the new captain of the Test side.
The three-Test series will follow the ODI series with the matches being played at Jamaica, Barbados, and Dominica.
Misbah who has appeared in 72 Tests, 162 ODIs and 39 T20 matches for Pakistan said he had not as yet decided what career he would adopt after stepping down as Test captain.
He was named one of Wisden's five Cricketers of the Year on Wednesday along with compatriot Younis Khan and English trio Ben Duckett, Chris Woakes and Toby Roland-Jones.
His captaincy in the shorter formats of the game, however, did not inspire much confidence and given his penchant for a measured approach, earned him an unwelcome nick name in "Tuk Tuk".
"Sarfraz is a fighter and the team looks united under his captaincy".
"We became number one in test rankings they also achieved this pinnacle and that too without playing against each other".
United Will No Longer Remove Passengers To Give Seats To Crew Members
In an effort to prevent the crew from bumping a seated, paying passenger, the seat dispute will now be settled ahead of boarding. I have committed to our customers and our employees that we are going to fix what's broken so this never happens again.
The exits of Younis and Misbah after the three Tests in the Caribbean will cost the Pakistan team more than 190 matches worth of experience.
"A decision of retiring is a player's own but it takes lot of thinking before that".
"Well played to Evin and to Powell who set it up really and I think Ashley played a really special little innings in the end to help us take it home".
Earlier, West Indies captain Jason Holder after winning the toss asked Pakistan to bat first.
Former Test batsman Mohammad Yousuf insisted that Misbah has enormous achievements and, therefore he should be accorded a proper farewell.
In terms of the records in this venue, West Indies hold the advantage as they have won two out of three games. Arthur said during Pakistan's tour of Australia that in an ideal world, he would want them to stagger their exits so that the impact on younger batsmen in the side could be more carefully managed.
Whilst the thought of their well-respected skipper riding into the sunset is one which will fill many cricket lovers with sadness, the news that Misbah will still be involved in the development of Pakistan cricket is likely to bring a few smiles back as well. The retirement of the two veterans is likely to create a vacuum for the Test cricket team.
